Change
Things are changing constantly, do you ever stop to look around and try to figure out what has happened? Or are you too busy changing?

How our lives look like from way way above? The things we do in our daily lives, the things we spend our time in. It's a different view. Miniscule. Like looking at an ant farm.

Feel the Disaster
Although I have left for 20 years, this is where I was born. A country that used to be under the control of the Netherlands. Official language is Dutch. Although, it is quite a melting pot, as Spanish and English are the required second languages to learn once you get to mid school or high school. And lots of Indonesians, Indians, and Chinese reside there as well. This is a piece of me. It's sad - it's a smaller, less known country, and so, was not in the news we read, hear or see everyday. It's been such a long time, and I don't even know where it is that's flooded. Could it be where I used to live? Or somewhere more inland? I don't know. My uncle still lives there. We still have people we know who are there. We tried to call him, but couldn't reach him. But I heard that he had called us today, while I was at work. That's good news. Holland (Red Cross in Netherlands, as shown in the news article below), is trying to come up with funds to help Suriname, since it is not a wealthy country, and it is and will be hard for it to rebuild with no funding. The schools I heard are all destroyed. And I can imagine, everything else is...Surinam: 30.000 km2 flooded16 May 2006 11:45:00 GMTNetherlands Red CrossWebsite: http:// www.rodekruis.nl A large part of the Surinam inland has been flooded. About 25.000 people have been affected. Many have fled to higher ground. The Netherlands Red Cross has made ? 300.000 available for relief in Suriname. The organization has sent two delegates to the area. The first relief items, hygiene kits, from the Netherlands Red Cross have already arrived in the disaster area. Food parcels for the victims are under way. Since the beginning of May it has been raining heavily in Surinam. In the inland of Surinam 30.000 km2 has been flooded. Torrential rains have flooded the entire south and parts of the central Amazonian Lowlands of Suriname. Some 25.000 people have been affected, with at least three dead. Villagers have fled to higher grounds when the rains started at the beginning of May. Situation and needs assessments Surinam Red Cross staffs are now carrying out situation and needs assessments in the affected areas. We have teamed up with the police, military, fire brigade and medical personnel and are travelling to the remote hinterlands hit hardest by rain-swollen rivers,? explained Glen Wijngaarde, Director General of the Suriname Red Cross. The Red Cross is attempting to reach remote flooded villages by helicopter, which is not easy as landing strips are also flooded and far removed from one another. Aid from the Netherlands The Netherlands Red Cross has made 300.000 available for relief in Suriname. The organization has sent two delegates to the area. The first relief items, hygiene kits, from the Netherlands Red Cross have already arrived in the disaster area. Food parcels for the victims are under way. It does not seem as if the situation will soon improve, as more rain has been predicted and the rain season has just started.[ Any views expressed in this article are those of the writer and not of Reuters. ]

It's a new year, and my birthday is officially over by 11 mins now. I just had a very blessed birthday. Not for the different and nice, sweet gifts I got, which I am thankful and grateful for, I am. But more so for the people around me. Had dinner last week with my college housemate, who's birthday is a week ahead of mines. Then, had friends from small group celebrate Victor's and my birthday, we both have the same birthday. And then celebrated again with peeps on Saturday. Then on Monday, Martin Luther holiday, had dinner with the family and celebrated again. And then, today, well a few hours ago while still at work, departmental celebration with cheese cake, which I don't have a thing for, but great anyways. And then tonight, again, had dinner with Alpha group. Celebrated a full week!
I got my annual birthday card from my sister & a long distance call in the morning! A card from small group, and from my brother and sister-in-law (plus gift), and also annual birthday card from my boss. And got some e-cards. Got phone call from my freshman year roommate, whom I called to say happy birthday to the day before, since her birthday is one day before mines, and got a call at 11 something from my housemate who called to tell me happy birthday. More e-cards and cards from friends that I haven't seen in a long time, and those from high school, and those from college. How blessed.

Aaron Kwok Concert 7-16-2005

Finally some time to do this, and to say...how awesome the concert was! Great great great!
Concert Poster
Let the dancing and the music begin...
Great dance moves for start!! Not some corny cheezy singing and dancing, I mean it was good stuff...and no signs of puffing for breath when he talks after he sings and dance.
Bonus points!!!!
(Although I didn't take these pictures, these pics cannot be more familiar to me, since I saw all the details and all the outfits, thanks to my employer...last year's employee gift...binoculars!!! Hey, finally made use of it and sure made a great difference! Ha..haha....)
What an outfit! I wouldn't wanna wear it, but he did walk like a robot...
And more dancing and singing, non-stop. Funny outfit, but who cares. The worst part of the outfit I think, is that green plastic circle on the right side of his chest. But...good
song & dance nonetheless.Wooohooo..
Yoohooo!!!
Saxophone....

The best! Angel wings....and they move!
Dance and no one drops...
Bravo!!! Excellent!

Nothing beats God answering a prayer for all the right reasons! When it is what God desires. So exciting.

Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky
Do you ever question your life
Do you ever wonder why
Do you ever see in your dreams...
All the castles in the sky
Oh tell me why...
Do we build castles in the sky
Oh tell me why...
All the castles way up high.
Please tell me why...
Do we build castles in the sky
Oh tell me why...
All the castles way up high.
Do you ever question your life
Do you ever wonder why
Do you ever see in your dreams...
All the castles in the sky
Oh tell me why...
Do we build castles in the sky
Oh tell me why...
All the castles way up high.
Please tell me why...
Do we build castles in the sky
Oh tell me why...
All the castles way up high.
